Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable travel guide to join our team at Ed’s and Lubs Travel Agency Company. As a travel guide, you will be responsible for providing exceptional tour experiences to our clients. Your role will involve leading guided tours, providing historical and cultural information, ensuring the safety and comfort of participants, and offering personalized recommendations to enhance their travel experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead guided tours for groups or individuals, showcasing popular tourist attractions, landmarks, and culturally significant sites.
  • Provide historical, cultural, and geographical information about the destinations visited.
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of participants during the tour, adhering to all relevant safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Engage and interact with clients, answering questions, and providing recommendations based on their interests and preferences.
  • Deliver informative, engaging, and entertaining commentary throughout the tour.
  • Maintain a professional and personable demeanor, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for clients.
  • Handle unexpected situations or disruptions during the tour, maintaining calm and finding appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinate with other team members and service providers to ensure smooth and well-organized tour logistics.
  • Stay up-to-date with current travel trends, safety protocols, and local regulations to provide accurate and relevant information to clients.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of tour itineraries, incorporating feedback from clients and industry trends.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, promptly addressing any concerns or issues raised by clients.
  • Take responsibility for the cleanliness and maintenance of any equipment or vehicles used during tours.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to promote tours and attract new clients.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a travel guide or in a related role.
  • Excellent knowledge of the destinations and attractions within the regions covered by the travel agency.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.
  • Extensive knowledge of history, culture, and geography with the ability to deliver engaging and informative commentary.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages (desirable but not required).
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to changing schedules and unexpected situations.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues and service providers.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to lead tours while standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Customer service-oriented, with a passion for providing exceptional experiences to clients.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable for the tour).
